Indlas Shantivan is established with the sole purpose of providing a wide range of psycho-social rehabilitation services for patients suffering from various psychiatric illnesses and substance use disorders (drug addiction). Psychiatric illnesses often have a long convalescence period making the prolonged stay at multi- speciality hospital unaffordable. Increasing burden of psychiatric illnesses including addiction problems in community at an alarming rate coupled with patients' reluctance for prolonged hospitalization, high cost of treatment made us realize that the Bio-Psycho-social model of health cannot be practiced at hospitals. Lack of infrastructure and well trained paramedical staff poses another significant problem in management of such chronic diseases.

I suffer from Bipolar disorder and had terrible mood swings over the past 5 years which made me loose my job. I consulted many psychiatrists before taking Rehabilitation at Shantivan where I learned how to live with this problem and now I even found a new job for myself.
Alcohol had made a mess of my life; I used to drink uncontrollably and excessively for almost 10 years despite knowing the harmful effects of liquor. I tried quitting it many times but couldn’t . One of my good friends advised a check up at Indlas following which I was told to undergo Deaddiction at Shantivan for 6 months. Now Iam alcohol free and living happily with my family.
It has a very nice atmosphere, away from the city. The treatment part is excellent. All the doctors are so caring and give their best by providing medication regularly, showing their concern to my problems. My counselor, Dr. Martin sir is an extra-ordinary motivator, guide and he had covered all aspects of my life. His counselling had helped me a lot to change and come out of my past. All the staff are very friendly and caring. Physical trainer Ashok sir is very talented and made me physically fit. He also choreographed few dance performances which are too good. My heartfelt thanks to Dr. Vishal sir for his personal attention on me and for his treatment. Thanks to each and everyone with whom I spent my time at Shantivan.
